About the Clinic
Located within the Westerly Animal Shelter, the Stand Up For Animals Wellness Clinic became a full-time clinic in December 2023. Led by Veterinarian Dr. Cathy Moore, DVM, we provide high quality wellness care for your pets in a welcoming and affordable setting.
While we are a low cost clinic, we are not limited to low income households, our services are available to all pet owners. We strongly encourage every pet owner to maintain a relationship with a full service veterinary clinic for needs that require hospitalization, emergency care, or advanced diagnostics.
To help protect the health and safety of the animals in our care, we are unable to see pets experiencing symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, vomiting, or diarrhea.
When visiting our clinic, please bring any available medical history for your pet to help us provide the best possible care.
A Wellness Exam is required prior to booking a surgery. Your surgery will be booked at the time of your appointment. All dogs and cats must be examined to ensure they are healthy candidates for surgery at our clinic. Wellness Exam prior to Surgery is $45.
We do not see any pets experiencing coughing/sneezing, or vomiting/diarrhea due to the shelter population of animals and recommend a full-service vet if your pet is sick. We do not do full panel bloodwork, ultrasound, or x-rays.
Effective 9/1/25 at the time of booking your surgery we require a complete deposit of the total surgery cost to secure your surgery date. Please refer to the Spay/Neuter prices and plan your Presurgical visit accordingly.

Our appointment book is computerized, which allows you to make appointments for your pet online. We are able to see minor issues like skin, ear, and treat for allergies. We are currently booking out with our appointments about 5 weeks, please plan accordingly.
If your pet is sick, we recommend a full-service vet or an animal urgent care like Pet Medic in Warwick, RI., Veterinary Urgent Care Center in Narraganset, RI., or Veterinary Emergency Group in Warwick, RI.
