Bruce G. Ladd Memorial Dog Park
After the creation of the Westerly Animal Shelter, SUFA sought to further its goal of supporting and improving the lives of animals in our region especially the shelter animals. With this in mind, Stand Up For Animals worked with the town of Westerly to change a nearby conservation area into a beautiful, modern and publicly-available park for dogs and their owners. This park has 3 distinct fenced in areas for small dogs, large dogs and shelter dogs. This park is open daily year-round for the enjoyment of residents of not only Westerly but those of surrounding communities and visitors to our area.
The dog park was made possible by a generous donation by Captain Bruce Ladd of Avondale, RI. Captain Ladd was an avid animal advocate and enjoyed time with his dogs, Agnes, Baracka and Star. We were humbled by his generosity and honored to memorialize Captain Ladd by naming this dog park in his honor.
Below is documentation regarding the rules of our Dog Park and other information.
