Introducing Canine Officer Raymond L. Hopkinton

Stand Up For Animals (SUFA) is proud to partner with the Men and Women of the Hopkinton Police Department as they announce their newest Officer, Canine Raymond L. Hopkinton. Officer Raymond is a twelve week Goldendoodle who will be handled by Detective John Forbes, a fifteen year veteran of the Hopkinton Police Department.

Officer Raymond is the Hopkinton Police Departments first certified compassion dog and he will be utilized to promote and build positive community connections. This includes attending community events, and visiting schools. Officer Raymond will begin his approximate one-year training to become a certified Compassion Dog at Courteous Canine, located in South Kingstown Rhode Island.

The partnership with SUFA will include SUFA accepting donations and raising funds for the sustainability of this program.  Donations will cover his daily needs and overall well-being including food, supplies, grooming and veterinary care.  Officer Raymond and all of his expenses will be paid for solely through donations which are gladly accepted online here or by mailing a check to SUFA, 33 Larry Hirsch Lane, Suite B, Westerly, RI 02891. If donating online, please specify the purpose of the donation in the Donor Note section.

His name is a tip of the hat to local Businessman and Businesswoman Ray Quinlan and Lydia Teixeira, owners of the Hopkinton Business Park LLC, who provided a very generous donation to kick start the program.  Officer Raymond would love to meet you so stay tuned to social media pages for Stand Up For Animals, Officer Raymond – HPD and the Hopkinton Police Department for future appearances and fundraising events.
